Fauci suspected lab leak connection but lied

Through a FOIA request, a congressional governmental committee obtained key emails between Fauci and his staff around the time of the beginning of the pandemic. One key email came from Doctor Christian Anderson said this “The unusual features of the virus make up a really small part of the genome so one has to look really closely at all the sequence to see that some of the features look engineered. I have told this to other coworkers Dr Eddie, Dr. Bob and Dr. Mike – we all find the genome inconsistent with expectations from evolutionary theory.” – so the virus looks engineered, not consistent with evolutionary theory. Less than 24 hours after this email, Dr. Fauci organized a conference call with eleven virologists from around the world. Strangely every single email regarding that phone call was redacted (completely censored out). 3 days later Dr. Anderson changed his story to ‘you’re crazy if you think it came from the lab’. That’s interesting because one of the people who testified in June 2021 (when Dr.Fauci wouldn’t) was doctor Gerard (former health secretary) who said “I believe it’s just too much of a coincidence that the worldwide pandemic caused by a novel bacteria coronavirus that cannot be found in nature, started just a few miles away from a secretive laboratory doing potentially dangerous research on bat coronaviruses.” Dr. Fauci’s next briefing slated for July 29th, 2021 will be private.

In an interview made in March 2021 Dr. Albright stated

“The Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have systematically thwarted efforts by the White House, the Congress, scientists, and science policy specialists to regulate GoF research of concern and even to require risk-benefit review for projects involving GoF research of concern”.

“In 2014, the Obama White House implemented a ‘Pause’ in federal funding for GoF research of concern.  However, the document announcing the Pause stated in a footnote that: ‘An exception from pause may be obtained if head of funding agency determines research is urgently necessary to protect public health or national security’. Unfortunately, the NIAID Director and the NIH Director exploited this loophole to issue exemptions to projects subject to the Pause –preposterously asserting the exempted research was ‘urgently necessary to protect public health or national security’– thereby nullifying the Pause”.

Furthermore

“In 2017, the Trump Administration announced a Potential Pandemic Pathogens Control and Oversight (P3CO) Framework that implemented a requirement for risk-benefit review of GoF research of concern. However, the P3CO Framework relies on the funding agency to flag and forward proposals for risk-benefit review.  Unfortunately, the NIAID Director and the NIH Director have declined to flag and forward proposals for risk-benefit review, thereby nullifying the P3CO Framework”

Initially said US taxpayer money didn’t fund the Wuhan institute of virology, later said we did fund it but it was through a sub-grant, then subsequently said yes we did fund it but we did no gain of function research, then July 25, 2021 said they did fund it and it was gain of function research but it was a sound scientific decision and then he said this “It would have been negligent to not fund the lab in China.

Prior to the Covid-19 the WHO Global Preparedness Monitoring Board on which Fauci sits, released its annual report containing the following :

“Preparedness and response systems and capabilities for disease outbreaks are not sufficient to deal with the enormous impact, rapid spread and shock to health, social and economic systems of a highly lethal pandemic, whether natural, accidental or deliberately released” (p. 28).

“A rapidly spreading pandemic due to a lethal respiratory pathogen (whether naturally emergent or accidentally or deliberately released) poses additional preparedness requirement” (p. 30).

Dr. Fauci knew that a lab origin pandemic was always a possibility, and in fact emphasized that possibility at the World Health Assembly last June (credit : Forbes): Former Food and Drug Administration chief, Gottlieb is quoted as saying:

“I was told at the time back in the spring that Dr. Fauci had gone over to a meeting with world health leaders in Europe around the World Health Assembly (…) At this meeting, Fauci briefed world health leaders on the information U.S. officials were looking at, including ‘that this could have been a potential lab leak, that this strain looked unusual’”.

Does the NIAID Director still think that the risk is worth it? And if the possibility of a lab origin pandemic was so obvious to him, has he been thwarting efforts to investigate a lab origin and making false statements, or just seeking to mislead? And why have the “world health leaders” that he apparently informed not spoken out?

When the virus first came onto the scene doctor Fauci said we don’t need to wear masks, later said no you need to wear two masks, then after that back to one mask, then of course we went to no masks, and now back to need to wear a mask again. On the question of the origin of the virus doctor Fauci has had just as many positions.
